Ridgeline Study Prompts

 Acts 8:9-25

Prayer and Preparation
Spend a moment in prayer - ask the Lord to prepare your heart to listen and grow as you read and study. Pray that your study may produce change that leads to action. God is speaking – do your best to listen.

Study
How is Acts 8:4-25 related to Acts 1:8? Why is this significant?

What was Peter’s rebuke to Simon the magician? What can be learned about salvation, the Holy Spirit, grace, earning or acquiring spiritual gifts? Are there ways that we try to manipulate God and His grace?

The Gospel crossing from Judea into Samaria is a pretty significant shift in the body of the early church. Do you have any mental or cultural barriers that stand between you and certain groups or types of people in our city? Write down any that come to mind.

Application
Would God have you cross some of those barriers you listed above? How might you take the gospel to places you maybe haven’t thought about taking the gospel yet? For accountability and encouragements sake, tell a spiritual partner of some of the barriers you’ve listed and your plans to cross those barriers with the gospel. Maybe invite that partner to step into that opportunity with you if it’s appropriate.
